Joe DiPaulo, owner of Stone Mason of Spring, feels he was once a cave dweller surrounded by Mother Nature. This idea has influenced his designs and 900 turnkey projects for the past 32 years. The innovative DiPaulo is not satisfied just building the pool proper but extends his work to include the landscape, planted gardens, seating, and outdoor kitchen complexes. The incorporation of fire elements takes many forms, blending beautifully with lit cascading water, caverns, and rock features—all of which is achieved by a team of talented artisans who control all phases of every project. With a fleet of machinery, DiPaulo fabricates designs in steel and creates stained-glass art. Additionally, he has a 1,000-ton gallery of stone, a two-acre plant and palm nursery, and an in-house inventory of statuary, metal urns, cauldrons, and a selection of ornaments.
Born to Italian parents who immigrated to America at the turn of the century, DiPaulo learned old-world building techniques from his father, and applies them today to many of his creations in the form of ruins in Roman, Greek, and classical styles. His work can run along contemporary, modern, and “galactic” lines, as well. Coming from a family that emphasized truth, honesty, and integrity, he is a handshake builder who lives up to his end of the bargain—always producing and constructing more than his clients ever imagined. By pushing the envelope, DiPaulo ensures no two projects are ever alike; he values the true meaning of the word “custom.” DiPaulo and his team anxiously await the next challenge—and intend it to be yet another masterpiece.
