oake® Pools is a family-owned-and-operated business, located in the heart of New England. Since 2014, Soake has been leading the small pool revolution, educating the public on the benefits of small pools and manufacturing plunge pools with an unwavering attention to detail and quality. The company’s goals have always been to provide simple transparent pricing, shorten installation time, while using the highest quality materials and equipment, all at a modest price point.
What makes Soake Pools unique? Soake’s precast concrete pools are manufactured in a temperature-controlled environment where they are hand-tiled with large format porcelain tiles. The pools are delivered to the customer site pre-plumbed and fully finished on the inside, so installation times can be as short as a couple of days.
“We first fell in love with plunge pools while traveling and knew immediately that we wanted to bring this bit of luxury to our home. However, we soon discovered that there was no affordable, high-quality option for plunge pools in our area, so we developed our own manufacturing process, designed to meet the rigors of New England’s climate,” says Brian Larson, co-founder of the company.
“The homeowners’ interest in plunge pools has grown exponentially over the past six years,” says Karen Larson, co-founder of Soake pools. “We are the first company in the US to make precast concrete plunge pools. When we first started, the concept of a plunge pool was very new in the US, but now it’s one of the fastest growing segments of the pool industry.”
Soake has filled a niche in the swimming pool industry and takes pride in the fact that they have been pioneering the small pool market for over six years. They fit nicely into a pocket of the market that most gunite builders weren’t interested in—building small concrete pools. As the demand for small pools has grown, pool builders from around the country have approached the company about reselling and installing the pools to homeowners in their local markets. As a result, in 2020 Soake announced its availability to consumers through a nationwide network of authorized dealers. The number of new authorized dealers has grown substantially in a year, and both Soake and its network of partners are riding a new wave of small pool sales.
Jay MacMullan, President of Mainstay Landscape Inc of Westwood & Osterville, MA, says, “Partnering with Soake Pools has given our company a huge advantage in creating custom outdoor living projects in a fraction of the time it would take for a conventional pool installation. Their quick turn around and masterfully crafted pools provide the blank canvas to create unlimited landscape designs.”
Is the small pool trend here to stay? Soake believes it is.
“Homeowners have begun to understand how a plunge pool can transform a backyard into an outdoor living space and still leave room for other fun features like fire pits and outdoor kitchens,” adds Brian. “We believe plunge pools will continue to fill a unique market niche for years to come.”
