Perched 75 feet above Auahi Street in Honolulu, this jaw-dropping glass-bottomed pool cantilevers 15 feet off the edge of the seventh-floor amenity deck of Anaha Ward Village. The dramatic saltwater pool treats swimmers to a framed view through its glass front and includes shallow areas for lounging and deeper areas for swimming. Designed by Chicago-based Solomon Cordwell Buenz in collaboration with Benjamin Woo Architects, Anaha offers a diverse range of residences where the serene privacy of one’s home is enhanced by the amenities of a luxury resort. “From below, passersby need only look up to see the pool suspended above. It is truly a unique experience, both for the swimmers above and the pedestrians below,” says Solomon Cordwell Buenz principal Strachan Forgan, RIBA, LEED AP. anahawardvillage.com, benwooarchitects.com, scb.com
