A hot tub’s interior shell is not only important to the structure of the entire spa, but also an distinct design element. Most portable hot tubs have an acrylic shell and there are many colors and texture effects to choose from.
As a leading manufacturer of cast acrylic for spas, Lucite® color lab works with interior design and color consultants from all over the world to ensure that its colors and surface effects are consistently in tune with what hot tub and spa owners want.
“We strive to make sure that all types of colors, textures, and styles are available to our hot tub and spa partners so they can design one-of-a-kind products that will be in demand by their customers,” says Chris Robinson, sheet business manager for Lucite.
Lucite recently introduced three new colors to its 2013 line of acrylics for hot tub and spa shells: Malibu Surf and Storm Clouds in its Serenity Series™ and Shimmering Linen in its Lustre Granite™ Series.
Joining the other shades on the Lucite color palette, these new colors harmonize with all types of motifs, but especially with those that utilize seaside, southwestern, and mountain elements in their designs. Because color runs all the way through to the core of each acrylic sheet, these three hues, like all Lucite colors, stand the test of time and maintain their richness for years.
Hot Tub Color Selection Tool
Homeowners seeking a way to evaluate a hot tub’s color against the backdrop of their home or backyard can utilize Lucite’s “Color My Spa” tool. With the click of a button, a homeowner can experiment with different hues and textures before shopping for a hot tub or spa, and then determine which one will work within their home’s décor.
Robinson explains, “A homeowner can choose a color they like on the Color My Spa feature and then visit the Lucite photo gallery to find out which spa manufacturer has the preferred color and texture.”
Long-Lasting Material
In addition to the classic styles and cutting-edge colors and textures, spa and hot tub manufacturers who use Lucite acrylics to build their units also appreciate that the material is strong, durable, and is easy to maintain. For more than 75 years, manufacturers have used Lucite in a number of popular bath, spa, and hot tub products.
“Smooth surface, stone effects or gently textured granites, a spa made from Lucite® SPA cast acrylic is the ultimate escape,” says Robinson. “Plus, Lucite’s beautiful colors, long-lasting shine, and durability provide customers with tranquility and peace of mind.”
In addition to its strength, LuciteLux® continuous cast acrylic sheets feature Microban® antimicrobial protection, which works day and night to keep the material cleaner by inhibiting the growth of stains, odors, and product deterioration that can be caused by bacteria.
“Lucite’s superlative materials are manufactured using the highest standards and with the industry’s best technology,” says Robinson. “A homeowner can be assured that any product made of Lucite will provide years and years of enjoyment.”
