Aquatic Consultants, Inc. is an internationally recognized leader in the design and planning of pools, spas, water features, ponds, and outdoor living areas. They provide complete design services and detailed plans for residential and commercial water environments of all types.

Over 15 years ago they stopped building and instead focus all their time and energy on design. As such, Aquatic Consultants is involved in a greater range of projects worldwide, with recent projects in Africa, Sri Lanka, Greece, France, Bermuda and Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Central and South America, as well as local projects near their home base in Miami, Florida and throughout the USA. Among recent projects are the new main pool at the Hamilton Princess Hotel and Beach Club in Bermuda; Ani Villas pools and water features in both Sri Lanka and the Dominican Republic; and several projects for Sir Richard Branson in the BVI on Moskito Island.

This upper level Lautner Knife edge slot perimeter overflow/ vanishing edge combination with an acrylic panel porthole window in the floor allows light to travel into the cavern below with floating table tops. This is only one section of what is two pools both connected hydraulically, an upper pool and a lower pool. Upper pool has a swim up bar, shallow lounging area, perimeter overflow fire feature (see below,) a swim up underwater table top with bar stools up against the vanishing edge wall, a slide, a hot spa, and a cavern that travels beneath the house, under the skylight with benches and floating tables.

Their work has been featured in print and television media like CNBC’s On the Money, Bob Vila’s Home Again, HGTV, CBS Sunday Morning, Architectural Digest, Tycoon magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Millionaire magazine, Perspectives on Design South Florida, International Property, Travel, and Vue Atlanta Magazine Summer 2025, and the tabletop book, Dream Pools. Their innovative projects have received well over 100 design awards over the years, including 10 Pinnacle Awards, as well as seven Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) Awards—nine Gold awards and one for Best in Show. Additionally, Aquatic Consultants was one of three recipients of the Society of Watershape Designers’® Award of Distinction and received Luxury Pools Pinnacle Design Awards in 2013, 2016, 2017, two in 2018, 2020, one in 2021, two in 2023, and one in 2024. Aquatic Consultants’ has been featured on the front cover of Luxury Pools five times.

The team at Aquatic Consultants is headed by Andrew Kaner, MLA, Genesis Master Certified Pool Design Professional, Brian Van Bower, and Kevin Villar, M.Arch, senior design associate.

This sunken fire feature magically floats out on the water. As you step down into the depth of the fire feature you are surround by two acrylic panel windows that allow you to gaze underwater all while making the walls virtually disappear from view. The circular fire feature has a continuous Lautner Knife edge slot perimeter overflow to allow uninterrupted endless ocean views out to the horizon and the sunset.

Van Bower is one of the founding partners of GENESIS®—an international educational design/construction consortium dedicated to being the resource for those with higher expectations in watershape design. Andy Kaner is a master certified design professional, certified through Genesis and is a Genesis instructor. “Working with water as a medium gives us the freedom to create visual, audible, and emotional experiences that can be peaceful, playful, daring, and powerful,” Kaner concludes.
