When a young, growing family purchased a home in need of vision outdoors, they asked DK Design to imagine—and build—exterior spaces that would serve them now and evolve with them over time. Working in lockstep with the builder and interior designer, DK Design handled everything from the walls of the home outward: new covered porches and connecting stairs, layered gardens, a re-centered pool terrace, a “she‑shed–inspired” craft house anchoring the potager, and courts for bocce and other sports. The result is a property that moves effortlessly from spirited play to quiet recharge—polished, practical, and family‑first.

At the heart of the plan, a rectilinear pool and integrated spa form a strong axial centerpiece. A frame of custom concrete paving keeps lines clean and modern, while generous steps and broad coping create comfortable, kid‑friendly edges. Stepping‑stone pads set into turf lead guests to and around the water, establishing an elegant cadence from gate to garden.
| “We approached the site as a series of rooms without walls—places for play, rest, and connection—organized by a quietly modern pool that will grow with the family for years.” — Daniel Keeley, Founder & Principal, DK Design |
Multiple covered living areas upstairs and down extend the home’s footprint and improve circulation—amenities that didn’t exist before the remodel. Loungers gather beneath wide umbrellas; a linear seating terrace supports conversation. Farther out, the bocce and sports court deliver year‑round activity, while the craft house presides over the kitchen garden, turning weekend projects into a ritual.

Evergreen hedging and columnar trees provide structure and privacy, softened by seasonal layers and focal containers. Sight lines are purposeful: across the pool and lawn, an original sculpture from the homeowners’ collection draws the eye and anchors the long view.
A restrained palette keeps the composition tailored. DK Design specified and procured all exterior furnishings, ensuring the textures and tones feel cohesive from terrace to trellis.

Why We Love It
Disciplined geometry, lush planting, and thoughtfully placed “rooms” transform a once‑underutilized yard into a true family oasis—beautiful today, adaptable for tomorrow.
