It’s pool season in much of the Northern Hemisphere! Like so many others, we’re looking forward to days spent lounging poolside under the hot sun—of course, with a fruity drink in hand topped with a tiny umbrella.
To celebrate the warm weather and the start of another pool season, we have pulled together some gorgeous outdoor pools that highlight luxury living and summer weather. These pools were designed by a range of luxury designers and pool experts who are well-versed in the design and build of high-end, luxurious pools and outdoor spaces.
WORKS OF ART
This Cayman Islands’ vacation home has a custom pool lining mosaic by Artaic in collaboration with underwater photographer Jim Hellemn. Inspired by the natural coral reef situated right beside the property, the 60-foot long mosaic, which is made up of thousands of squared 3/8” vitreous glass tiles, offers the homeowners a permanent art installation that immortalizes the underwater ecosystem living right in their backyard.

PERFECT PLUNGE POOLS
Plunge pools are great alternatives for a traditional swimming pool when space does not allow you to have one. Here are some stunning designs from Soake Pools.
Outdoor Living Furniture + Designs
The decor and design around the pool are equally as important as the luxury pool itself. These two designs deliver respites for relaxation.
This residence in Palm Springs, California, features the Flex Outdoor sofa from Resource Furniture. Based on the Axiom 2110 and featuring the Turkel Design signature post-and-beam construction and an open great room breezing out to a private courtyard, the 2,080-square-foot Axiom Desert House draws from the lifestyle and culture of Palm Springs—seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living while incorporating innovative and energy-efficient products and systems throughout. photo credit Chase Daniel for Dwell.
When Art Director Gisellah Harvey and Film Editor Joseph Klotz enlisted Sarah Jefferys Architecture + Interiors to remodel their 2,800-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath country home, and build a 1,800-square-foot addition in pastoral Warren, Connecticut, the interior designer and architect sought to modernize the outdated home while creating a minimalist rustic charm central to the design scheme. To the side of the house sits this custom-designed pool and built-in hot tub scenically shaded by tall trees. The pool is surrounded by a bluestone patio and native plants, seamlessly connecting it to the pond beyond. The entirety of the remodeled landscaping that surrounds the house was conceived using native plants. Image courtesy of Morten Smidt.
