Design Ecology

Up for the Challenge

This team of talented professionalsis excited to take on even the most demanding of pool projects.

Its energetic studio in Austin, Texas, is home to a creative professional group with a passion for design. Specializing in estate master planning, custom swimming pools, and unique watershapes, Design Ecology / Design Aquatics offers a full range of residential and commercial landscape architectural services. They tailor each project to exceed client goals with a unique, environmentally responsible
design solution.

Their creative process begins with design. As partner and principal landscape architect for Design Ecology / Design Aquatics, Scott Cummings takes responsibility for every design produced.
He works closely with associate designers and clients to ensure that all plans fully address the unique challenges of each individual project.

Scott takes the time to become familiar with each client in order to develop a design program—a tailored wish list of the elements to include in the project. Once he has had the opportunity to understand a client and project in greater detail, the team can dive right into conceptual planning. Initial drawings communicate design intent and allow for the preparation of preliminary construction budgeting.

The next phase of design development explores alternative design solutions, 3D modeling and material finishes. Client feedback is incorporated into the plans,  ensuring the final design addresses each of their goals for the space. Once all the details meet their approval, the design team moves on to construction documents and/or construction of the project.

As partner and director of construction, Benjamin Lasseter is responsible for bringing Design Ecology / Design Aquatics designs to life. He oversees all construction projects from planning to completion while managing a skilled team of craftsmen to provide unparalleled attention to detail. Ben loves a challenge and excels when tasked with the most technically demanding projects in the most difficult locations. Unique and challenging projects are the most rewarding and fun to be a part of.

Whether a project is in the design phase or constuction, it is their attention  to detail that sets Design Ecology apart.
