Thirty-seven years ago and fresh out of college, Scott Girner founded Aloha Pools. Today, the Arkansas-based company builds more than 100 pools a year, and has earned a solid reputation as one of the state’s premier pool builders.

Girner’s drive for quality and customer satisfaction led him to see a niche that needed to be filled. “It wasn’t long before we discovered the need for a truly low-maintenance and trouble-free pool,” notes Girner. Ultimately, he designed and trademarked the Smart Pool™, which is exceptional for its ability to remove debris from both the surface of the water, as well as off the pool floor.

Always on the lookout for opportunities to expand the company’s services, Girner took on the challenge of building gunite pools. This led to a new division, called Elite Pools. (Hence, the current company name: Elite Pools by Aloha.)

“Building top-quality, well-engineered pools requires continued education and gathering the best builders,” says Girner. It’s with this drive to succeed that he returned to school with GENESIS® and amassed the best gunite experts in and around the area to join his team.

Having earned several certifications, Girner positioned himself as a pool builder with a high level of specialized expertise, which he views as essential for delivering a large volume of quality products. “If our contractors don’t have the education and expertise, then we must,” he says.

This pool and spa combo features travertine coping and pavers provided by Noble Tile, Grand Effects concrete fire bowls, and a dark gray plaster finish.

Elite Pools by Aloha, a Carecraft affiliate, controls nearly all phases of construction by completing them in-house. For the few operations that they need to bring in contractors, they have a quality control staff member ensure the same level of performance and end-user product that they themselves guarantee.

The team behind the company is a busy one. Typically, they are working on 10 to 15 projects at any given time—some of which are feats of gravity, such as a pool sitting atop 27-foot vertical legs.

Elite Pools by Aloha’s devotion to quality has paid off. In recognition of their fine craftsmanship, HGTV recently featured one of their lazy rivers.
